I saw a sign the said Stay Calm Carry On. And thought is said it all. I try to live by it. Getting upset accomplishes nothing but raising my blood pressure and stress level.
So what does this have to do with Knitting or better yet spinning. I get frustrated easy, especially when I see something that other people make look so easy, and then for life of me I cant get it to work. So when I started spinning, I did it mainly to relax, find my Zen. After about a month of doing it Ive learned a few things.
1.) I'm a bigger klutz then I thought. I can hurt myself with a drop spindle.
2.) Spinning is not as easy as it looks.
3.)and the more I relax the less stress and frustrated I get. Go figure
As long as I stay relaxed, my spinning looks like I'm accomplishing something other then this big ole blob of string. As soon as I start tensing up, my spinning goes straight down the gutter. So this week were trying a new plan, before I even start spinning I take a few seconds to find my Zen and remind myself that its not going to be perfect, Ive only been at this for a 2 months, next step is to just go with the flow. And finally use the resources I have available to me to find my Zen and learn to spin. YouTube is my friend.
So to all you out there. Stay Calm Carry On.
